The Internet is a great way for you to generate targeted [tag]MLM leads[/tag]. But do you just stop there and let your “auto system” to the [tag]recruiting[/tag] and [tag]prospecting[/tag] for you?
No!
Most [tag]network marketers[/tag] hate [tag]cold calling[/tag] and I’m one of them (Well I’m not like this anymore, when you understand that calling is a part of business building, you will love it). It’s not always nice to call someone you don’t know and tell them about the business you are in. Sometimes you get rejected, sometimes you get “cheated” and sometimes they gave you the wrong number. But there is a smart way out.
Making phone calls is part of building a [tag]successful network marketing business[/tag]. You can’t run away from it and that’s a fact. Forget about the “No cold calling system” or “The lazy way to build your MLM business”, yea! they work really well on the front and recruit lots of people on “auto pilot”. But the question is will your business substain?
This is a people to people business, making phone calls and building a relationship is unavoidable.
You can be the top recruiter of your MLM company, recruiting a average 100 people a month using your very own online auto pilot prospecting system. So what? Will your team stay and build the business? Most probably not, chances are really low.
Instead you want to be a business builder and a team leader or do you want to be a [tag]super recruiters[/tag] only to make a couple dollars every month. Now that’s the difference, a business builder build strong teams and a recruiter just recruits. Do you maths. You want a network of team builders to build the business or just recruit consumers?
So this is my point, a network marketing business is a people to people business. Making phone calls to talk to your targeted prospect is a way of building a relationship. People join the business, not because of the business but because they trusted you then they join you in the business.
So don’t worry, start making a couple of phone calls a day!

What happened to Monday Night Traffic? I was looking forward to reading those every week.
Terry, some great points about being a leader and treating it like a business. Also, you’re dead on about all the “auto system” that are being fed out there…however, there are ways to create real systems that develop relationships before the call. So I agree with your view on auto systems as they’re popping up, out of the box. I disagree that eliminating the cold call can’t be done. It can be done, but it takes work in other ways to get there.
Using this approach, I answer calls rather than make them.
I guess ultimately, you have to do something…might as well be something that works!
Cheers,
Tony
Great post and I totally agree you Terry,
What I find really amazing is the amount of people online spouting that calling cold leads is outdated, doesn’t work, or is a waste of money. What ever happened to the old adage “don’t try to reinvent the wheel” Ok, the internet has come along and has made networking and finding prospects a lot easier, but calling and talking to the prospect is still extremely important for relationship building. People join people.
