But Don’t Do It Blindly
Yes, outsourcing your work might seem like an easy way out but it’s actually not. It may sound as easy as…
“I’ve got 10 articles for you to write and I need it by tomorrow, here’s fifthy bucks for the job”.
You probably can do it that way but you’ll soon find out that what your writer give you might not be what you want. In the end, you spend more time adjusting, looking for a new writer, changing details here and there. It’s just not worth the time doing all this unnecessary work.
I’ve Got Bitten
I was impatient and wanted to rush one project badly. I did spend a whole day planning and writing down the instruction on how I want the particular project to be done. But that’s not the point. I wasn’t sure if the time was right for the project to proceed, I’ve totally forgotten to take consideration on the time, budget and available resources. I rushed into the project and got myself into a mess. I could have spend those time replying email and reading emails writing 10 blog post and have it up in advance. It was a great lesson learnt though.
I Almost Fail For it Again
What actually triggered me to write this post was my eagerness to outsource a project that I’ve never even tested it out yet. I thought it would turn out great and wanted the result fast so I thought why not just outsource it and get someone to do it. Luckily, I kept cool and recompose myself. If I would have outsource it, I would have probably lost a few hundred dollars and my precious time.
Moral of the story is never, and I repeat, NEVER ever outsource any work if you do not have these ready…
- A detailed description of the project
- Do you know how the project will work
- Unsure of your budget
- If it’s not the right time to carry on with the project
- Haven’t done enough research on the freelancer you are going to engage
Have encounter any problem when doing outsourcing? If you have please feel free to share your experiences.
