Answer That!

4 July, 2007

Few days back I wrote a post about the toughest question in network marketing. Many new [tag]network marketers[/tag] might find it extremely tough to reply when their [tag]prospect[/tag] throw them a tough question. Some find it hard to talk to people and some give up when they are rejected a few times.

Rejection is part of [tag]success[/tag], so if you want to succeed learn to handle [tag]rejection[/tag] and not avoid them.

At times, your prospect might just ask this…

“Is [tag]network marketing[/tag] or [tag]MLM[/tag] about [tag]recruiting[/tag] as people as possible and [tag]make money[/tag] out of those that I have recruited?”

or…

“I hear people say that it is illegal and only the top makes the most.”

or…

“Do I need to come out money? Is it a pyramid scam?”

The list just goes on and on. You either learn to handle it or quit… Let’s be frank, the route to [tag]network marketing success[/tag] is not going to be easy.

So here’s a typical scenario between you and your prospect. You will find some ways to reply or a better word “educate” your prospect.

You: Hi, how’s it going?

Prospect: Great! What about you?

You: I have been busy with my own business, that teaches people to create wealth through a learn and earn program. Would I not be a friend if I don’t tell you about this?

Prospect: Yeah… tell me more.

You: Not now, I got a meet up with another friend to tell him more about this program. Why not you go to this website (your website) and watch the video, you are not going to believe what you will see (Fear of loss, suspense). Call me after that!

Prospect: Hey, I just finished the video! Looks interesting but is it some kind of pyramid scam or mlm?

You: What you know about pyramid scam or mlm?

Prospect: I hear people say that it is illegal and only the top makes the most.

You: Are you working for a company now?

Prospect: Yes.

You: Who draws the most salary in your company?

Prospect: My CEO, directors and probably most of my managers.

You: Is your company illegal?

Prospect: No of course, its one of the biggest printer company in the world!

You: Then I believe your friend have told you something not true about network marketing.

Prospect: Yeah it make some sense! Tell me more…

(Bear in mind that you need to know network marketing company well enough to know what you are saying.)

End

Like I said, you either learn it or avoid it forever. Talk to yourself in the mirror if you have to, I did that before and it helps.

Hi Terry!

Not sure if you still remember me.

Anyway, nice post on learning how to answer these tough questions!

I have a qns has been bugging me for some time…hope you have the time to reply!

Regarding the prospects, do you just approach any of your friends/contacts or you somehow select them (based on whether you think they are actually interested in running a business, or just want more money)?

Thanks!

Hi Kai Wei,

Network marketing is more then just an
income opportunity. It’s educational and
fun.

To me, everyone can be a prospect, you just
never know what they bring to the table.
Get to know people and build a network.

People who are not interested are not your
prospect. Be gracious, move on and not waste
your time one people that are not interested.

Hope you get something out of this.

Terry
